Client Voices
“We hired Carolyn on three separate occasions: to help with our Annual Report, a Program Booklet for a special fundraising event and our year-end appeal. She works hard to ensure that the message she crafts is both compelling and thought provoking. We have never been disappointed. She is an accomplished writer, with great attention to detail, and also very dependable. She has never missed a deadline.”
“Carolyn’s creativity and resourcefulness are a boon to small shops and organizations in need of her services. She is capable of taking elements and joining them into a compelling, cohesive piece that will motivate audiences to take action. When you hand a job to Carolyn, you know it will be done on time and on-budget — and she is a pleasure to work with.”
“
While I was a Senior Designer at Turnaround Marketing Communications, I had the pleasure of working with Carolyn. Her attention to detail and her ability to take on tasks and solve new and varied problems impressed me. Carolyn is a professional and approaches each and every job she takes on with equal respect, no matter the budget or size. Her affable manner and great sense of humor make her a joy to work with.”
Contracted Word Work
Woods services
Woods Services is a leading advocacy and service organization for people with exceptional challenges, disabilities and complex needs. They know that their method to treat Autism, brain injury or emotional behavioral-challenges, is effective. They also knew that that their Annual Report wasn’t. They wanted to catch the eye of their donors with success stories that really touched on the journey and not just the results.
They needed an extra hand. Based on a referral, they turned to Contracted Word. We delivered not only on time and under budget, but also brought a fresh look to the publication.

WOODS FOUNDATION
How could Woods Services and Woods Foundation create and produce an effective thank you message for all donors no matter how their gift was solicited or directed?
With reader reaction in mind, Contracted Word developed a strategy that would deliver a single message even if the reader never opened the card and simply read only the front and back. The resulting fold-over card, using the client’s photo, expressed separate messages of gratitude that could also be read as one letter.
Woods CEO/President, Scott Spreat, was heard to say, “wow” when presented with the draft.
With a clear eye on budget, this note-card was designed to be produced in-house. It uses variable data fields for individualized salutations and whitespace inside for a personal messaging.

tabor services
When Tabor Children’s Services inaugurated their yearly fundraiser A Taste of Tabor – A Delicious Good Deed, they knew that they couldn’t tackle the Program Booklet alone. Contracted Word delivered not only the success stories of their Foster Care Graduates, but also all of the restaurant reviews. Our editing made sure that the booklet was a limited number of pages without losing content or the flavors of the event.

St. Ignatius of Antioch R.C. School
MURAL PROJECTS can be a start to "building your brand" and they go a long way building community pride.
Your recognizable logo in a school gym, where competition can reach beyond exhilarating decibels, fires-up school pride. Visitors know their competition and see that your community values its legacy and reputation.
An inspirational mural reminds your community of your purpose. Think of it as a summary of your mission statement.
Murals often become the school’s “go-to” photo point.
Cafeteria
"I have had the pleasure of working with Carolyn on two different projects. Both involved the painting of murals, to be presented as gifts to the school from graduating classes. In one instance, the class knew that they wanted to paint the school crest in the gym. In the other instance, the class knew that they wanted a biblical phrase painted on a wall and wanted an image to go with the phrase, but did not have a firm idea of what image. In both instances, I came to Carolyn with the idea. Not only did she execute the idea, but she brought an expanded vision to both projects. She asked questions, suggested ideas, and developed a clear plan. She brought to fruition the concepts that the students had in their heads. Carolyn certainly delivered on her promise. The students were thrilled with the finished products and with the legacy Carolyn helped them leave at their school."
